Aaina Salon, 337 S. Broadway, Hicksville (516-933-3524), specializes in the Asian art of "threading." Customers, up to 100 each day, come to Aaina to try this new approach at hair removal. Threading is a less expensive and easy alternative to waxing. Facial threading is a painless, Asian method of hair removal with no side effects. It also helps give clients a tremendous glow and clean shape after the procedure. Two to three feet of special, thick cotton thread is twisted over the area in a quick motion. The process is fast and can remove all types of unwanted hair.

Clients boast that threading lasts longer and is less painful than traditional waxing "Threading is much better than waxing, which tears the skin off my upper lip area and leaves a scar. Threading leaves my skin smooth and the hair doesn't grow back as quickly," one customer said. While threading is a favorite choice at Aaina, standard waxing is also available.
